Native from Java but widespread to many region and become a local cuisine in many cultures. Northern India call them Komprek and being eaten around Manipur. Sundanese in Western Java use them as one the most common salad to accompany fried freshwater fish. Japan eat them as part of the spring festival.
Korean is the culture who consume them a lot as side vegetable dish. Its a very popular because its considered as one of the element in Kim Chi making!
